FOREWORD: GOING PLACES WITH THE LORD
The First Assembly of God Church, at L & P D’Urban Street in the capital city of Georgetown, in Guyana, has Reverend Murtland Raphael Massiah as Senior Pastor. He is ably assisted by a team of capable Assistant Pastors, Elders and other leaders.
An affiliate of the Assemblies of God in Guyana, First Assembly boasts a congregation of mostly young people, with members drawn from just about every stratum of the society.
First Assembly has a heart for Missions, and for both the spiritual and social well-being of its members as well as those in the communities it serves.
All this is evident in the church’s programmes.
The church offers a remedial education programme up to the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSE) level, with core subjects including English, Mathematics and Social Studies. This is open to members of the church as well as others.

There is an estimated total of over two hundred children who gather every Sunday to worship their King, Jesus. There is a separate building provided for Children's Church where the children meet for this privileged purpose. Children's Church is definitely not a place where babies are hushed to sleep and children are kept for their parents; rather, it is the place where children are being given appropriate attention, spiritually, morally and physically, and are being equipped with efficient tools to fight against distractive elements that attempt to confuse their lives during a period of intellectual, physical and emotional development. Presently, a number of children are saved, water-baptised, filled with the Holy Spirit and living for Jesus. He is working with them at their own pace. Remember, they are children.

Recreation department
Responsible for family fundays and other recreational activities of the church.

A warm welcome message...
This voluntary body was mandated with the main objective of addressing the issue of school children who throng the streets, consuming alcohol among other undesirable activities. The focus is on the removal of unsightly behaviours from these corridors of time wasting, to more productive activities, to safeguard youths from destruction.
