Rev Eileen Taitte- Senior Assistant Pastor

Eileen Taitte nee George, the fourth of five children was born to the parents of Irene George and Joseph St. Martin on the 9th May, 1934, at the Georgetown Public Hospital. My father was a St Lucian and my mother a Guyanese, with Surinamese heritage. He worked at the sugar estate as a boiler while my mother did basketry and dressmaking. She also spent time caring for her children and teaching them godly principles. She was a Jordanite, but came out from a Catholic background. She made every effort to rear her children in a godly environment by holding family devotions every morning. Two important things she taught us were to read the Bible and to pray.

Rev Avril Langford

This ministry commenced some years ago. It has grown tremendously over the years.

The ministry entails praying for the sick, those affected by demonic attacks, oppression and depression, which can eventually result in persons having unsound minds.

Deliverance services are being held every Thursday day and night, and all who need deliverance whether physically, spiritually, emotionally etc. can attend and receive a touch from the Master's hand.

Pastor Anthony Semple - Music Director

I came to know the Lord Jesus at the very tender age of seven, when my eldest brother brought me to First Assembly of God Wortmanville on his “chubang” bicycle. I took my faith to the next level and was bapitised the next year and never looked back since. In the words of the song writer, “it’s been worth having the Lord in my life…” as all that I’ve become, I’ve learnt and developed it in the house of the Lord.
I presently serve as an Assistant Pastor with direct responsibility for the Creative and Performing Arts Ministry and all Prayer initiatives. I am a graduate of the Assemblies of God Bible College and the Caribbean School of Theology. I also hold several specialized single subject diplomas from the International Institute of Commercial Management and certificates from the Royal School of Music in London. Currently, I am pursuing a Bachelors degree in Sociology at the University of Guyana.
Rochelle, my beautiful wife of seven years, is a very integral part of my ministry and the ministry as a whole. We love each other deeply and are determined to serve for the growth and development of First Assembly and the advancement of the Kingdom of God.

Pastor David Hermonstine- Missions Director

Missions is the heart beat of God, who gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish ... (John 3:16). Jesus came to give life and life more abundantly and He left us the Great Commission .. so we are co-labourers together with God to proprogate the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

First Assembly of God Wortmanville is a Missionary Church, fulfilling this mandate, locally and Internationally. Over the years we have been involved in missionary work in various parts of the country, like the North West Region and West Coast Berbice, planting churches, raising up leaders and seeing lives being transformed from the kingdom of darkness to the Kingdom of Light. We presently have a Missionary serving in Kosovo fulfilling God's purpose for his life.

Our ultimate purpose in this ministry area is simply just to Glorify the Name of God, our Saviour and Lord! He's our soon coming KING!

Assistant Pastor Loraine Cannings

I began my Primary Education at Wedgewood Junior and Smith’s Congregational.  I then pursued my Secondary Education at Central High and East Ruimveldt Government Secondary Schools. My tertiary Education was at the Government Technical Institute and Critchlow Labour College respectively.  I am a graduate of the Assemblies of God Bible College, International School of Ministry (ISOM), and a current student of the Caribbean School of Theology.
I am the mother of three adult children, two boys and one girl, and the grandmother of nine. I was saved and baptized at the age of eleven years and backslid at age sixteen.  My daughter was two weeks old when I dedicated her to the Lord and at the same time I rededicated my life to the Lord. My ministry began at the altar, for whenever I could (which was always) I would be in church praying. I felt the Holy Spirit leading in Deliverance, Sunday School and Prison Ministry.
Presently, I am working full time at First Assembly of God Wortmanville, counseling in the area of Inner Healing and assisting Rev Langford in the Deliverance Ministry. I love Jesus with a passion and am very enthusiastic in allowing the Holy Spirit to use me to bring people out of bondage and see them develop meaningful and fruitful Christian lives.

Assistant Pastor Raphael Jackman

Being appointed Youth Pastor at First Assembly of God in 2011 has created many more opportunities for ministry and service in the Kingdom of God. I am now poised to reach out to our youths and directly communicate with them on their level.     Ministry officially commenced in 1995 at First Assembly of God, Wortmanville five years after the dramatic change in my life,(from 1990-1995 four years and seven months of training to move from the darkness of prison life to the presence of GOD where I learnt to praise Him, from prison to praise). I accepted the Lord as my personal savior.  In this Assembly I was appointed Sports Co-coordinator, Deacon, Assistant Pastor and now Youth Pastor over a period of 12 years. Concurrently in my development in the leadership, I graduated from the Assemblies of God Bible College and the Caribbean School of Theology. Professionally I am presently a Social Work student, honing my skills in counseling, social and community based interaction and development. In addition to Youth Pastor, myself and wife of 25 years, join with other members of the Family Department to conduct pre-marital, marriage and family counseling. I was also a volunteer at the Cricket World Cup held in the West Indies and at Guyexpo (Guyana’s largest trade show). I have also received training in Disaster Preparedness from the Civil Defense Commission (Guyana).

My educational background included graduating from high school and the Government Technical Institute. Being an ardent football fanatic has created opportunities for progress of this sport in all arenas. I represented Guyana at the under 19 level  against Trinidad & Tobago. The love for this sport create the opportunity for me to attend the World Conference in Athens Greece, where I was further trained in using sport as a vehicle to reach the lost for Christ, my passion and goal.

My greatest accomplishment is being the father of two strong young men, who have grown in the grace and knowledge of God. This gives me pleasure daily as I am able to instill the Word of God into their lives, and to observe how they have been able to create their own niche in the Kingdom of God.      This scripture has guided me since conversion and I leave with you, Galatians 6:7 (KJV) Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Go out and sow as God would have you for the advancement of the Kingdom of God.

Assistant Pastor Yvonne W. Osman

Psalm 139:16 “Your eyes saw my substance , being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were unwritten,
                         The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them.”

Born in Aruba of a Guyanese mother and a Surinamese father, Hans and Beryl  Zebeda , I.  Yvonne, only know Guyana  as home. From age twelve , the Lord planted me in Guyana  with my mother and grandmother and three siblings. Here, the Lord met with me as a seventeen year old student as I viewed the Film “ Seventeen” , shown at Bible Club at school, Cambridge Academy.
God’s continued sanctification process and keeping power cannot be described in a few words.
My God provided me with secondary , tertiary and theological education, so that I could use the gift of teaching as a profession for His glory.
He blessed me with a husband, Raschid Osman, a daughter, Ruth Osman-Rose and a son-in-law , Claude V. Rose.
As a young convert , I was involved in teaching Sunday School and Youth Ministry under the tutelage of the late Rev. Milton Kersten, my first pastor. Then came the call to the mission field in unconventional ways.
First it was  to  Akawini  Creek, a tributary of the Pomeroon  River, in the county of Essequibo. For three years  I served there as a single young woman and a trained teacher among Guyana’s indigenous people. There I helped the local missionary, Sist. Dorothy Skeete  Rodrigues , to pioneer the school and to establish the church.
Next it was with my nuclear family in the Commonwealth of Dominica, 1991 to 1999.There I served  as the Christian Education Director on the island, for  the Pentecostal Assemblies of the West Indies  Fellowship.
Now He has called me to pioneer a school and to teach a handful of Guyana’s youth. They are being taught that they are loved by their Creator to whom they should surrender their lives, and that they must take their education seriously and live purposeful and fulfilled lives.
As a senior citizen, I continue to strive for the prize, being temperate in all things, so that I can inherit an incorruptible crown. ( 1 Corinthians 9 : 25 ) . And I declare, “ How precious also  are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them.” (Psalm 139 : 17)

Assistant Pastor Evlyn Gulliver

I received a primary education at St. Agnes Anglican School, Danielstown and
studied privately to acquire a secondary education.
I commenced my teaching career at age fifteen and subsequently attended
the Teacher's Training College where I obtained a Trained Teacher's Certificate.
I worked at several schools in Guyana and retired as a Headteacher.
Since retiring I have continued as a teacher at a private School.

I am single and enjoy a single life serving the Lord.
I have served as a Sunday School teacher and as the Women's Ministries President
for several years.  I have also participated in several courses at the
Caribbean School of Theology and was awarded a Diploma of Biblical Studies
from the International School of Ministry.

I am presently the Pastor at Judah Assembly in Sophia.
I enjoy serving the Lord since it is fulfilling and rewarding as lives are transformed
through the power of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Assistant Pastor Claudette Barrow

I began my Primary Education at Trinity Methodist School and then pursued my Secondary Education at Progressive & Priority Institute. I am a graduate of the Assemblies of God Bible College and the Caribbean School of Theology.
At the age of fourteen years I was about to commit suicide, I was attracted to the exuberance of the young Christians who attended the church in my area and in my depressed state I wandered into a church service and was gloriously delivered and I accepted the call for salvation. Immediately I knew that God wanted me to preach the word. I was very active in a department of the church and at the age of twenty four years I began preaching in outstations. One of my dominant gifts is evangelism.
I am a widow, the mother of one daughter, and grandmother of five. Presently, I am the Pastor for Hopetown Assembly of God situated on the West Coast of Berbice, which an outstation of First Assembly of God Wortmanville.  My passion is for souls to be born into the Kingdom of God.
